Personality & Traits

General Overview Kevin lives in a colorful, sensual world, inspired by connections with people and ideas. He takes joy in reinterpreting these connections, reinventing and experimenting with new perspectives. No other person onboard explores and experiments in this way more. This creates a sense of spontaneity, making Pittman seem unpredictable, even to his close friends and loved ones.

Despite all this, Kevin is definitely an introvert, surprising his friends further when he step out of the spotlight to recharge.

Pittman is a man who finds ways to push his passions. Riskier behaviors like extreme sports are more common to occur when hanging out with him. Fortunately his attunement to the moment and his environment allows him to do better than most.

Kevin above all enjoys connecting with others, and has a certain irresistible charm that comes out with his infectious smile.
Strengths & Weaknesses Kevin can be a very good communicator at times which allows him to really connect with people of all walks of life. This intuitive nature was encouraged as a a kid so it stands to reason it would only make him a better person as he got older. However, he doesn't have the tendency to talk a little too much which can upset some of his co-workers and shipmates.

No one comes close to the enthusiasm Kevin has. A natural eagerness to try new things and get his hands dirty in just about anything identified him as quite the able-bodied cadet. This also has it's down side as he can come on a little too strong to people, this tends to happen a lot with women he's interested in.

Kevin is also a dreamer, his imagination takes him places not even the holodeck can recreate. He reads a lot which only contributes to this open-mined view he uses on life.
Ambitions Kevin, much like his brother, has the ambition to command his own ship some day. In-coupled with that is a wife, kids and family that can share in these experiences. Legacy is very important to Kevin and his family.

A little deeper than becoming a Captain and commanding his own ship someday, is commanding Starfleet One, the starship of the President of the United Federation of Planets. As it stands currently, both he and his brother had a little side wager formed during their time in the academy as to which of them would command the ship in their career.
Hobbies & Interests Kevin loves to take care of himself. He's big on trying new foods that add to the healthy lifestyle he currently practices. One of his favorite past times is trying foods not of earth in a effort to see what's out there in space that may be beneficial to humans.

Personal History Born to Trent and Margaret Pittman, Kevin is one of three of their children, the youngest of a brother and sister. Growing up on United Earth in Chesapeake, Virginia many aspects of his life were typical of a teen growing up in a suburban area. His father traveled a lot, but in his formative years, made it a point to work from home as much as possible to be with his kids.

Initially, Kevin had little to no interests in joining Starfleet. His brother, who’s three years older than him, knew that Starfleet was going to be a career for him. His sister, who is the oldest, had a love for combat and fighting since he could remember, so her choice to go marines made perfect sense to him. Kevin however, really didn’t know what he wanted to do.

Kevin’s parents didn’t force their kids in any direction while giving them the information they needed to carve their own paths. Kevin was no different, his interests jumped all around the spectrum until his father brought him and his brother to a gala which housed the President of the UFP. Seeing the off-white ground deployed Starfleet One, the federations transportation for the chief executive of the UFP placed him a a career course for Starfleet.

Though the relative size of the intrepid-class starship is smaller than most, it’s presence as a staple of this event, the lights shining on it in different aspects just sent Kevin in awe. He was determined that one day, he would command that ship. He would apply to the Starfleet Preparatory Academy with the help of his mother who also helped his siblings with the same process.

The summer weeks of his high school graduation were spent at the prep academy where friendships and lasting impression on what it meant to be a Starfleet Cadet were discussed. Kevin, would also have the distinction in the family of scoring the highest on the Starfleet Academy entrance exams. This distinction also earned him honors among the various Starfleet Admissions officers who sent him his acceptance letter shortly after he completed the program.

As a Cadet 4th class, Kevin actually spent a great deal of time with his brother as he was in his senior year. They were inseparable most of the time when he wasn’t preparing for graduation. Half of his core graduation requirements were completed in this first year. This allowed for additional research in potential departments that interested him.

The highlight of the end of his first year was standing on the graduation stage with his parents and sister as he watched his dad pin an Ensign pip on his collar. He was so proud of his brother and seeing his sister in her First Lieutenant uniform motivated Kevin more than ever to ge through his training.

During Kevin’s second-year at the academy, his academics allowed him to be selected for Omega Squad, a unit usually reserved for senior cadets. His time in Omega brought him to the realization that ship operations was his calling. It would also be the last time for quite a while he would see his sister as she was tapped for a new assignment that would take her far away from Earth.

Kevin’s third year in the academy saw him spending his spring time courses in the academy and fall time courses aboard Stardock 001. Learning first hand the skills needed to be a operations officer for one of the most advanced and active stardocks in the fleet. It’s worth noticing that by this time, Kevin had engaged in several relationships while attending SFA. The most serious of them came on the heels of his time at the stardock.

Lieutenant (JG) Angela Miles had been assigned as one of the many shuttle bay mangers onboard the Stardock. Their relationship spanned the entirety of his assignment on board the station and attempted beyond that, until her reassignment out of the system. It was honestly one of the hardest relationship break-up he had to deal with, but in the end, burying the pain a little made it more bearable for him.

Pittman spend his 4th year at the academy mostly off-world, finishing his tour of duty on station and starting his 8-month cadet cruise on board USS Tiburon as a acting operations officer. His fall term went through without any major issues which allowed him to return to earth and graduate in the top five percent of his class. Graduating as an Ensign and being assigned to his first ship as a operations officer, Kevin started his dream of making a true impact as a member of the USS Vindex, one of the largest ships he had every seen in real life.
