I'm Coming

Posted on Wed Feb 15th, 2017 @ 5:29pm by Lieutenant JG Annie Wilson

Mission: S1E4 - Remnants Of A Lost Cause
Location: USS Clyde
Timeline: Day 67; 1930

Walking through the corridors to the nearest transporter room, Annie had refused the help she was offered to bring the Clyde back to its mother ship, wondering why it was offered in the first place. Having lost her beloved partner after the Consortium turned off the Vindex's life support, Annie was heartbroken and didn't know what to do, but counselling wasn't going to help fix how she felt. Retribution wasn't even on her mind, "what was the point?"

Talking to a counsellor wasn't going to bring her beloved Anastasia back from the dead, and no matter how much she wished for this horrible reality to all be a horrible dream, Annie woke up in their shared double bed alone. The empty feeling of that bed was echoed in Annie's feelings, she didn't want to talk to anyone, the only thing she wanted was to hold her beloved Anastasia and tell her how much she loved her.

After walking into the transporter room, Annie told the operator she wanted to transport to the Clyde. Just as she was about to transport off the Vindex, Annie removed her comm badge and dropped it on the floor in front of the transport pad, avoiding being seen by the transport pad operator. Just as the comm badge fell to the floor, Annie watched as she left the Vindex, with the transport operator looking up at the last second.

Once she was on the Clyde, Annie looked around the control area of the abandoned shuttle, which was eerily silent. There was no sign of any struggles, but Annie knew people had been here, she had that familiar feeling. Annie slowly walked around the Clyde, seeing if anyone was still on board, but, nobody else was there. With that confirmed, Annie walked back into the Clyde's control area and sat at the main console, working out how to proceed with her plan. After pressing a few buttons, she brought the Clyde back to life.

"Computer," Annie said. "Prevent any transports from the shuttle."

With the transporter blocked, Annie left the pilot's chair and walked to the nearest control panel, opened it, and looked at the now exposed power relays. Staring into them, Annie ignored the repeated calls from the Vindex to give them a report, but she wasn't going to give one. Annie wasn't going back to the Vindex if Anastasia wasn't there, the person who she loved and made her life worth living.

From one pocket, Annie removed the canar she and Anastasia had used to bond together what felt like dozens of times, caressing its smooth glass like surface with her thumb, thinking about the precious memories they shared in the short time they were together.

"I love you, always." Annie whispered, welling up with tears.

Annie reached into her pocket, producing a small phaser she had been given by Lieutenant Cusack, as part of her policy of arming all of the bridge and command staff. Setting it as high as possible, Annie raised the weapon and pointed it straight at the exposed power relays. Breathing and closing her eyes, she continued to caress the canar, lifting it up to her chest and feeling the canar fill her body up with the love Anastasia and Annie shared. For a brief moment, it almost felt like Anastasia was right there on board the shuttle with her, giving her reassurance.

"I'm coming, Anastasia." Annie said. "We're going to be together forever."

Annie fired the phaser into the exposed power relays, causing them to explode violently and throwing her across the runabout. Annie was slammed into the solid bulkhead behind her with massive force, falling to the floor with a heavy thud. Even with the extreme force of the explosion which had caused extensive damage to the Clyde, Annie had managed to keep a tight hold of the canar, and as she lay lifeless on the floor of the Clyde, repeated calls from the Vindex went unanswered...
