I Feel For You

Mission: S1E1 - Booby Trap
Location: Crew Deck
Timeline: During a normal day

"Uh oh... Hold the turbolift." Two crewmen held the door as another struggled to hurry inside. He had the very recognizable 'zombie walk' and look of shock on his face. They patiently waited while he entered. "You must had your intake physical, didn't you?"

The crewman offered a pained, pleading look.

The Tellarite let the door close. "Quarters?"

"Turbolift, continue." The lift accelerated. "I take it that the dragon nurse found something that needed fixing?"

"Mhm... Great weight loss program. I left ten pounds lighter than I went in."

"My fault. I had a protein accumulation."

The stout Tellarite frowned pensively, "How is protein bad?"

"I found out why humans aren't supposed to eat Denebian craypods. If I'm ever exposed to the companion spores, the protein will congeal into fertilized eggs." He looked to the Tellarite, "You had yours, yet?"

The stout fellow groaned, leaning his forehead into the lift wall, "Mhhh..."

"I'll take that as a 'yes'."

"I had a deposits of methidol in my fat cells." He frowned, "What can I say? I enjoy smoking special pipe blends."

"Ooo, the dragon nurse extracted biomass out of you, too?"

The Tellarite growled, "NO! I wish that she had!" He frowned, "The only way to safely extract it without causing a health reaction is to metabolize it."

"Oh no... She didn't!"

He slumped, "She did. She put me on a diet. No matter what I tell the replicator, all it gives me is hideous foods like cottage cheese and leaves... and nuts... and low sugar berries. Do you know what the worst part about it all is for a Tellarite like me?"

"I can't even argue with her about it. Every time I do, she finds something else to do to me."

The protein-purged crewman grinned, "Hey. I can replicate something for you."

He shook his head, "She'll find out. The computer audits replicator usage. Then you'll be on a replicator diet, too."

The two crewman commiserated with each other until the saw the look of horror on the third crewman. "Ooo... you haven't had your physical yet, have you?" They received a frightened, tense shake of the head. "Dude, you might as well just bite the bullet and get it over with. Resistance is futile, she will find you."

Some words spoken in life are prophetic. The turbolift door opened and the crewman cried out with fright. Waiting right at the door was Nurse Takahashi. With eyes fixed in a gaze upon her new patient, she beckoned him forward with slowly curling index finger. It was futile, but he asked anyway, "Me?"

She politely folded her hands low and smiled pleasantly at him. "You."
