Mission: S1E1 - Booby Trap
Location: USS Vindex > Deck 8 > Junior Officer Quarters
Timeline: Current

"You really need to stop crying mom, I'm not the first of your offspring to go off in space."

"Well..." Sobbing slightly uncontrollably, "...it doesn't matter, your still my child."

Dressed in his duty uniform, Kevin was attempting to go to start his first shift onboard the Vindex in the operations center. Why he thought a last minuet conversation with his parents was in order he would never understand, but being a good son and the youngest, he figured it would go something like this.

"TRENT COME IN HERE AND LOOK AT YOUR SON." His mother bellow as Kevin winced a bit at the exclamation.

"IN A MINUET!" He replied back with the same tone. Kevin smirked at his parents, the two of them looked to be the most stable people in the world in public, but when at him, in what Kevin imagined was just like many other home, they were his parents.

"Ok, mom...I have to go, I'm going to be late."

"Ok, wiat..did you talk to your bother and sister?"

"Yes, I talked to her last night and he's off flying around the galaxy. The both said they will reach out."

"Ok, I love you."

"I love you too mom. I have to go."

"Ok, bye...love you."

"Love you too."

The communication was cut off as Kevin closed his eyes a smiled at his family. Sitting in the common area, he placed his PADD down on the table as he noticed Hall standing in the walkway of her quarters. "You're mother reminds me of mine." She said smiling as Kevin got up replying. "Well, you can't have her...but I hear shes adopting, so by all means, apply within."

Hall, now in clothes slightly more comfortable, shook her head no as he walked over to their replicator with a book tucked under her arm and replied. "That's sweet, but no thank you. Will they ever visit you on board?"

"My father might, doubt my mother will, she's not a big fan of space travel." Heading towards the exit, she summoned a cup of black tea and spoke. "Have a good shit, and Pittman."

Stopped as the door sild open, he looked at her waiting to hear her remark.

"Don't break my operations center or my ship please?" Flopping down on the opposite couch after sitting her tea down, she smiled at Kevin who replied walking out the door.

"No promises."
